A hole in one is a very rare kind of achievement in golf terms which professional and amateur golfers wish for - the ultimate trial of their skills and techniques. The odds of striking a hole in one vary depending on a lot of sources and numbers used for calculating the odds.

Many reputed magazines and golf digests have made their own surveys and pegged the odds at 1 in 3756 for a professional golfer and 1 in 12,750 for an amateur. These assumptions and calculations differ from magazine to magazine, and it's very difficult to arrive at a common figure. The Galgorm Castle Northern Ireland PGA EuroPro Open will reach a global audience through its international coverage from Sky Sports and will also feature on the Golf Channel in the United States.

With a truly international field in prospect, Galgorm Castle looks forward to welcoming players from all the home nations plus Europe, South Africa and Australia. The Galgorm Castle Northern Ireland PGA EuroPro Open begins in earnest on Wednesday (23rd) and is a 54-hole strokeplay event where the professionals will contest the £40,000 prize purse with £10,000 going to the eventual winner.
